Studio Tobias Rehberger - Time to… - Arduino Shield
Dienststelle was commisioned by Studio Tobias Rehberger to develop the electronics and programming of seven binary LED clocks for the new conference rooms at BIG Vienna.
Located at the 12th and 13th floor of the BIG headquarters in Vienna the LED clocks are the central elements of the wall designs of Tobias Rehbergers winning contest contribution.
Dienststelle designed and produced special circuits to switch the 26 LED surfaces of each of the binary clocks, controlled by very precise realtime chronometers.
The circuits are implemented as shields for the Arduino Mega microcontroller, where the software resides. A special requirement was to keep the size of the circuits as small as possible, while having high amounts of current flowing through the traces.
BIG stands for Bundesimmobiliengesellschaft, which is the national real estate authority of Austria.
